Find the total return on a mutual fund investment.
The gain is divided by the original investment to get a percentage.
Return %: (Current value − Invested) ÷ Invested × 100
Should I use absolute return to compare two funds?
Only if you held both investments for the same amount of time. If not, use CAGR instead, since total return does not consider how long the money was invested.
